Aristo Fashion’s label “Babini Kuki” was presented in New York at the Haute Couture Show. This manufacturer is located in Varna, the East Coast of Bulgaria, where all garments are made by hand. Unfortunately the original Designer Galina Dacheva passed away in Spring 2007. But her designs will live forever.

Of course, hand-crafted clothing has changed quite a bit over the years, so today we can enjoy the beautiful stitches and patterns this legacy brings us. As it turns out, there aren’t many who have the skill and the imagination needed to master this traditional art.

The Babini kuki label on a piece of clothing is a guarantee that it is an authentic handcrafted item. The knitters use only knitting needles and crochet hooks, but their most important tool is their skill. For one sweater to be made, over 50 000 stitches must be knitted - stitch by stitch, row by row. There isn’t even a single stitch done on a machine.

The patterns and materials have been chosen among hundreds of alternatives, to give each design its unique outlook.
We use many different yarns in our collections, all of them specialty hand-knitting yarns. All the yarns are carefully chosen after testing. From the hundreds of offers we receive, we choose only the best. Different patterns are also tested with the various yarns. Sometimes it takes several months to develop a design. But, all that hard work is rewarded when an a piece of clothing is created so perfect, much like piece of art. We have no doubt that the designing and creating of these items is a form of art.

In fact, that is how the tradition has been passed down through the generations - the oldest and most skilled women passed their knowledge, their skill, their craft. And, that is how the art of hand knitting was preserved.
